2016 Australia $2 Olympic Team

The 2016 Australia $2 Olympic team commemorative issue features the 4th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara with lettering ‘ELIZABETH II’ and ‘AUSTRALIA 2016’ with the designer’s initials ‘IRB’ beneath.

The reverse features the depiction of Seven Olympic Sports, Basketball, Equestrian, Rugby Sevens, Gymnastics, Canoe/Kayak Slalom, Golf & Fencing, surrounding the Red Olympic Ring. Within the Red Olympic Ring the Kangaroo & Emu of the Australian Coat of Arms, the five interlocking Olympic Rings and the 7 pointed star to represent the Six States and Territories of Australia with lettering ‘2016 AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC TEAM’ and ‘TWO DOLLARS’ below.
